This DIY outdoor wall planter from ‘Sugar and Cloth’ is just the thing to boost the appeal of your patio or deck. Made from a wooden handrail section from Home Depot, you could plant herbs, succulents or flowers here. It’s also versatile enough to fit into most styles, from modern to traditional.
‘BHG’ has some great ideas for improving your patio space. Try installing a ceiling fan! Steve and I are making sure our next house has one in the outdoor space. Not just for keeping cool, but did you know a ceiling fan reduces problems with insects, including mosquitoes? Done.

Well this idea from ‘Midwest Living‘ works for patios, porches and decks too! It may be just a matter of gathering pots from all around the yard and bringing them to the steps.
Also from ‘Midwest Living‘, a similar idea. Use plants to line the edge of a patio or deck, kinda like giving it imaginary “walls”. You can divide spaces this way too.
